Hair Masks

Everyone’s hair needs a little TLC every now and then. Whether you’re wearing a weave or flaunting your natural hair, you’ll need to make some effort to keep your locks looking and feeling healthy. Human hair tends to lose its moisture when frequently exposed to sun or harmful chemicals in hair dyes. Heat from styling tools can also damage the cuticles of your hair, leaving them dry and brittle.

Here are some DIY hair masks that you can try to replenish your hair and give them the royal treatment they deserve.

Coconut Oil & Honey Hair Mask

This two-ingredient mask is perfect for repairing damaged hair. Coconut oil carries multiple vitamins and essential fatty acids that nourish hair from within and make them softer. Honey, on the other, hand helps in keeping the moisture locked in. As honey is also an emollient, it adds shine to your hair.

Ingredients:
Coconut Oil – 1 Tablespoon

Coconut Oil

Honey – 1 Tablespoon

Honey

Directions:
Heat up the coconut oil in a microwave to melt it from its natural semi-solid state to liquid form. Add honey to it and stir until both ingredients are incorporated together. Next, apply the mask to your hair from the roots to tips, and allow it to sit for at least 20 minutes before washing it off.

Avocado & Egg Yolk Hair Mask

Avocado and egg yolk mask is yet another two-ingredient treatment that can restore your hair’s natural strength and shine. Avocado is rich in vitamin B and E, which boost hair growth and have restorative properties. Egg yolk is packed with minerals and proteins in addition to B-complex vitamins. These compounds provide the nutrients necessary to bring luster to your tresses.

Ingredients:
½ of an avocado

Avocado
Egg Yolks – 2

Egg Yolks

Directions:
Shift both egg yolks in a bowl and use a fork to whisk them until they’re frothy. Next, mash the avocado by hand or use a blender to turn it into a lump-free puree. Once that’s done, mix both ingredients together in a bowl until it reaches the consistency of a cream. You can also pop both ingredients together into a blender for quicker results. Apply the mask on wet hair. Make sure you start from the scalp and gently massage downward.
