Hair Extensions

While summers are truly magical and great, that doesn’t mean they don’t come with their own set of problems. While you no longer have to deal with winter blues and dry tresses, you still have to deal with humidity and moisture.

Make sure you don’t get tangled up in hair care problems, especially if you’ve gotten hair extensions. Here’s what you can do to prevent your weaves from getting frizzy and damaged this summer:

Oil Once a Week

This is one of the major concerns of all the clients we get. Some wonder if it’s okay to oil hair extensions every day. Others believe extensions shouldn’t be oiled. Both are false. Your extensions may not be real hair but once you get them, you do need to take care of them.

Not only will that help avoid damage, it will also stop them from becoming loose. Oil your natural hair once a week. Oil in your extensions is not an issue. Just make sure to oil your hair at least once or twice a week to help them grow.

Don’t Expose Them To Heat

It’s generally not a good idea to expose your extensions to heat. Summers are already hot and humid. Heat styling can make things worse. It’s not just your extensions that’ll suffer; it’s your natural hair as well.

If you need to blow dry your hair, we recommend setting the blow dryer to “cool” instead of “hot.”

Avoid Products Rich in Chemicals

So, here’s the thing: if you keep using products that are rich in chemicals, not only will you damage your hair extensions; you can damage your natural hair. The chemicals can penetrate through the hair extensions and affect your scalp directly.

Luckily, we offer natural and organic hair care products to our clients to ensure their extensions and natural hair are safe!

Dab a Little Sunscreen, Sunshine!

Yes, it’s a weird hack, we know.  But after you’re done running sunscreen on yourself, run your fingers through your hair. This’ll protect your hair extensions and natural hair from the sun’s UV rays.

Just make sure to follow these tips to ensure your hair extensions remain beautiful and damage-free!
